Electoral Area D
Project overview
The SLRD, in partnership with Squamish CAN, is connecting with businesses in Area D to better understand how waste is managed, some of the challenges they may be experiencing, and what supports could help improve waste reduction and diversion.
We are seeking input to better understand the local business waste landscape, including:
- Knowledge of waste management practices, including recyclable streams and the impacts of contamination.
- Awareness of transfer station regulations, restrictions, and bans.
- Motivations, challenges, barriers, and opportunities related to waste reduction and diversion.
- The waste diversion options currently offered within commercial establishments.
- The resources and support needed by businesses to strengthen waste diversion efforts.
The information gathered will inform future education, advocacy, initiatives and policy development. Participation does not guarantee changes to existing services and programs; however, your feedback will help guide future planning and decision-making.
