Anderson Lake Park Project
Exciting news! As you may know - plans are underway for a new park in Seton Portage, aiming to preserve and enhance the area's rich cultural, heritage, and wildlife values.
The SLRD gratefully acknowledges that this proposed park will be situated within the traditional territory of the St’át’imc Tsal'alhmec. The Tsal'alh Administration has provided guidance throughout the park planning process, and the SLRD looks to co-manage the park alongside the Tsal’alh Administration.
Our current Phase: Community Consultation!
About this Project
This park, nestled within the historic Nka'iot Site, promises to be a beautiful addition to the community.
We have created this project page to keep you updated on project developments. Your input is crucial in shaping this project. We'd like to hear your questions, thoughts, and ideas on the proposed objectives for the park, which currently include:
- an easy grade, bench-cut accessible pedestrian trail for water access
- picnic areas
- parking
- fencing around istkens sites and interpretive signage explaining the cultural significance of the istkens
- facilities for the local bat population
- and more
Feedback will help ensure the park reflects the community's needs and desires while honouring its cultural significance.
Let's work together to create a space everyone can enjoy for generations. Share your thoughts on the Park Management Plan and help us bring this vision to life.
