The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) recently launched our Get Involved platform. All project information for the Area A Official Community Plan (OCP) prior to Phase 4 can be found on the project page on the SLRD website.

What is Phase 4?

We are now in Phase 4 of this project, requesting community input into the Draft OCP before moving forward with further legislative requirements (second reading, a public hearing, third reading and final adoption).

The SLRD proudly presents the DRAFT Area A OCP Bylaw No. 1822-2023 for public review!

The Draft Area A OCP was developed based on extensive research and public engagement throughout 2022 and 2023.

If adopted, the plan would replace the existing Upper Bridge River Valley Official Community Plan (OCP), which last underwent a major review in 2006 (adopted in 2008). The new OCP considers the current context of Electoral Area A (demographic shifts, housing, employment, etc.), which, along with public input, have helped shape the policy directions of this new plan. The new Area A OCP should capture the priorities, goals, and values of Area A residents and property owners over the next 15 to 20 years.

So we want to know, did we get it right? Let us know your thoughts. Review the full draft document below. Short on time? Check out the Virtual Open House boards under Key Documents for an "at a glance" project overview.

How Do I Participate in Phase 4?

We want to hear from you - what did we get right? Is there anything missing? Anything that should be changed?

Ask a question here, join us for an opportunity below, or reach out to the project team.

We have two primary engagement opportunities available to gather community input into the Draft OCP:

Online Community Survey:

Survey deadline extended to Monday, February 26 at 5pm.

The Online Community Survey intends to gather information into the Draft OCP and mapping to see if we got it right.

The survey is located at the bottom of this page, and will be open from February 6-26, 2024.

Virtual Public Open House:

We hosted an Open House on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 6pm.

The Public Open House was a virtual engagement opportunity to gather input into the Draft OCP.

Missed the Open House? Watch the pre-recorded presentation under Videos or check out the Open House boards under Key Documents. FAQs that were asked at the Open House can also be found on the right hand side of this page.

*Note that the engagement activities proposed for Phase 4 are separate from the public hearing process, which is legislatively mandated and will occur after second reading. The intent of Phase 4 is to gather more detailed community feedback on the plan so that only minimal changes are required after the second reading.
